This rare EK (midori green was only offered in 1996) came to us torn to pieces, with the hopes that we could put it back together with a stock K20A2 from a US Spec Acura RSX Type-S. We put it together and using a Hondata reflashed ecu and basic bolt-on's. The car ran N/A for about four months when owner Shea Platt came to us asking for more power, at that point we decide to take the plunge and design a custom turbo setup for him. Being that this is a street car that would occasionally see the 1/4 mile we opted for a turbo that would be very responsive, provide a wide powerband, and relitively flat torque curve. After several months of working on the project on and off it finally all came together, now it was time to start tuning. Hondata K-Pro was used to control a set of 550 cc fuel injectors and all other paramaters. The K20A2 features ajdustable intake cam advance to optomize power through the rev range, which results in 24 fuel and ignition tables to tune. Twenty-three hours over the course of three days were spent on a good friends dyno perfecting the tune. The results were very pleasing, 326 whp at only 9 lbs. of boost, and nearly all 263 lbs. of torque from 3500 rpm all the way up to 8500 rpm. Unfortunately, words just don't do any justice to how good this car feels to drive. And to back that feeling, we were able to go 12.03 @ 115 mph in the quarter mile our first time to the track! After over a year of hard driving the K20 EK is still going strong!
